A New England SummerJoin us as we travel to the White Mountains of New England to enjoy a trip on the cog railway to the top of Mount Washington, a tour of a Christmas tree farm, a driving tour to track moose in their natural habit, a witch trial at Salem Witch Museum, plus time to explore a quaint Vermont village complete with a covered bridge and a town green. Oh, my! It’s six days of exciting summertime adventure and you don’t want to miss it!

Monday, June 9th – This morning we begin our adventure by traveling from Virginia to Parsippany, New Jersey. The scenery along the way, the wonderful people on the motorcoach, and the laughter will make it a great day! (D)

Tuesday, June 10thA New England SummerRise and shine for today we will be traveling to the White Mountain State of New Hampshire. But we won’t just ride all day; we will stop and see things along the way. First will be time in Salem, Massachusetts, most noted for the Witch Trials of 1692. We will visit the Gallows Hill Museum and watch a show that combines history, testimony, and a little bit more in this immersive presentation. And then we’ll become the jury in a trial to get a taste of what it was really like. Afterwards we will continue on our way (even if found guilty) and check into The Mountain Club on Loon for our three nights in New Hampshire. We’ll enjoy dinner and a wildlife presentation at our hotel and then soak in the spectacular views around us. The mountains bathed in shades of blue and green are serene. And the twinkling of fireflies will surely bring a smile to your face. It’s going to be glorious! (B, D)

A New England Summer

Wednesday, June 11thA New England SummerAfter a tasty breakfast, we will have a local guide meet us for a day of touring. We’ll begin with a ride on the world’s first mountain climbing cog railway to the summit of Mount Washington, the highest peak in the Northeast. The views are amazing! Afterwards, we will pay homage to the annual blossoming of A New England Summerthe captivating wildflower, the lupine. The brilliant spikes of the lupine carpet the fields and pastures in a rolling sea of vibrant purples, pinks, blues, and white. These wildflowers also attract dazzling butterflies that, combined with the flowers, create a breathtaking display against the mountain ranges. It’s quite spectacular! (B, L, D)

Thursday, June 11th – After breakfast our local guide will take us to a Christmas tree farm for a horse drawn wagon rideA New England Summer as we learn about Christmas tree farming. Then we’re off to the luxurious Omni Mount Washington Resort for an elegant buffet lunch. After lunch you’ll have time to tour this gorgeous historic hotel. A favorite New England retreat of presidents and celebrities, you’ll surely enjoy your time there. Then we’re off to Fadden’s General store, an authentic old-timey general store built in 1896. Their maple syrup has been voted the best in New Hampshire seven times. We’ll get to tour their maple sugar house and sample their tasty maple syrup during this great stop. We’ll enjoy dinner afterwards and then relax for a bit before we head out with our guide for an evening moose tour. Seeing these giant animals in their natural habitat (and from the safety of our motorcoach) will definitely be exciting. Get those cameras ready! (B, L, D)
